Drunk driver hits trooper, cadet on I-5
A drunk driver crashed into the patrol car of a state trooper and cadet, who were both injured in the collision. The crash happened Sunday, along Interstate 5, just south of downtown Seattle, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The Washington State Patrol also reported that an 18-year-old passenger in other car also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Firefighters had to cut into the wreckage to pull him out.
At about 2 a.m. Sunday, on the southbound shoulder of I-5 where the troopers were parked to investigate an earlier Seattle automobile accident near the Albro Place exit, the car rear-ended the patrol car, which had emergency lights on.
The driver, an 18-year-old Tacoma man, was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and booked into the King County Jail.
The troopers were taken to Harborview Medical Center with nonfatal injuries.
