A dramatic two-car accident on I-5 just north of the Highway 526 interchange in Everett on Thursday afternoon left two people with minor injuries.
According to the Washington State Patrol, two trucks went off the freeway, took out 15 sections of concrete barrier and went down a 70-foot embankment.
In one truck was a driver and two passengers, while the other had only a driver. All four suffered non life-threatening injuries that and were taken to Providence Everett Medical Center for treatment.
“It could have been a lot worse,” State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said.
According to a witness, a different vehicle quickly drove across three lanes of traffic after entering I-5 from the Highway 526 onramp, cut off one truck, and sent it into the other truck. Leary stated that this account was unconfirmed. A third vehicle was not located by police.
