An 18-year-old girl who was slated to graduate from high school in one week, died in a Lacey car crash over the weekend. According to police, she was driving drunk.

Mason County Sheriff’s Deputies say they think the teen was speeding and had been drinking early Saturday morning when she lost control of her Suzuki Sidekick and crashed into a tree.

The girls’ family members do not know whether or not there was alcohol involved in the crash, all they know is that their daughter/granddaughter is gone – a week before graduating from North Thurston High School.
