Lars Erickson, a Pierce Transit spokesman, said that the driver and all five passengers were taken to St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood.
Injuries were minor in this Lakewood auto accident and people went to the hospital mainly as a precaution for possible back and neck injuries, said Washington State Trooper Brandy Kessler. She also said that a semi-truck rear-ended the van which was pushed into another vehicle. The other drivers were not injured.
Kessler says the truck driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
The Transportation Department says the crash caused a two-mile backup.
